The test allows to determine the deformation module of a ground layer in order to verify the bearing capacity of road foundations or the subsidence of the ground under a pre-set load. We proceed by applying pressure, in successive and regular increments, on a rigid circular plate resting on the test ground and measuring the yield corresponding to each load step. The test can be carried out by carrying out several loading and unloading cycles.
